Information we collect about, or correspondence we receive from, the student is part of the student’s education record. The university maintains the privacy of student education records and allows students the right to inspect their education records as stated in the university's Student Education Records policy, consistent with the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested. We reserve the right to change or update this Privacy Notice at any time. Any changes or updates will be effective immediately upon posting to this website, and your use of this site following such posting constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Notice as so changed or updated. If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we will notify you and ask you to agree to the new terms by clicking on the acceptance of changes notification. If you choose not to accept the amended terms of the Privacy Notice at that time, your access to USCe.pay will be terminated.
This notice applies specifically to all information collected or submitted on the USCe.pay website. It does not apply to other websites belonging to the University of Southern California. USC is the sole owner of all of the information collected on this site.

In order to protect the security of credit card and bank account information, it is not stored on our server after the transaction has been completed.
We may also collect information (a) about your transactions with us, such as your USCe.pay transactions, account balances, payment history, and account activity, (b) from a consumer reporting agency, such as your credit bureau reports and other information relating to your creditworthiness and (c) received about you from other sources, such as third parties or public sources.
We do not publish content directed at children or collect information from minors. No information may be submitted to us by persons under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, nor may persons under the age of 13 make payments, undertake transactions or take other legal acts on this site without such consent, unless permitted by applicable law.
Any billing address information or secondary email address you provide will be recorded on the University’s Student Information System, and will available to any authorized users of that system or their authorized agents.
Information you provide when authorizing guest users may be stored on our secured web server or on the Student Information System, but will be available only to Financial Services employees or their authorized agents as described below.
Except for your billing address, we use the information you provide only for the purposes of verifying that you are an authorized user when logging in, protecting against potential fraud, providing the USCe.pay service, processing payments, providing customer service and emailing notices about payments and other account activity to you. Additionally, if your account has a negative balance for over 60 days, we may share information with processing companies including collection agencies. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete a payment transaction, collect amounts due or as required by applicable law or court order. Our employees and any parties receiving information to complete a transaction understand the confidential nature of the information and the need to protect it and agree not to disclose or use it in a manner inconsistent with these terms.
Any credit card or bank account information you provide will be used only to process a single transaction and will not be stored as part of your permanent record. Your credit card or bank account number will be displayed only while you are entering the information and verifying payment details. Once you have submitted a payment, all but the last four digits of these numbers will be masked on any screen verifying that the transaction has been completed and on any email notifications.
Finally, we sometimes use aggregated data (independent of any personal identifiers) for research and commercial purposes but we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. Specifically, we will not provide your information to third parties for commercial purposes.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures which we regard as appropriate to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use encryption technology to protect the security of the information collected and transmitted on our website. However, transmissions made by means of the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. USC will have no liability for disclosure of data due to errors in transmission, unauthorized acts of third parties or through the use of third party cookies or other devices on your computer. Once you leave this website, you will be subject to third party privacy policies which may differ significantly from the policy described in this notice.
To correct your name or social security number, you must submit a completed Request for Change/Correction of Student Number/Name form to the Office of Academic Records and Registrar (ARR).
You may change or add your billing address on this website. For information about changing your permanent or local address, please look up ‘address’ on the ARR website.
If you believe any of the financial information on this site is incorrect, write us at the contact address below to preserve your rights.
We must hear from you no later than sixty (60) days after the date of the first statement on which the error or questioned transaction occurred. You may telephone our office, but doing so will not preserve your rights.
